La première étape de Paris-Nice 2025 s'est achevée sur un sprint massif remporté par le Belge Tim Merlier (Soudal Quick-Step). Malgré plusieurs tentatives d'échappées dans les derniers kilomètres, le peloton est resté groupé jusqu'à l'emballage final, offrant ainsi une superbe victoire au Champion d'Europe en titre. Merlier a devancé de justesse le Français Arnaud Démare (Arkéa - B&B Hotels) et l'Italien Alberto Dainese (Tudor Pro Cycling Team), qui complète le podium.
Un sprint attendu et une première victoire pour Merlier
Déjà pressenti comme l'un des grands favoris de l'épreuve, Tim Merlier a su parfaitement manoeuvrer dans le sprint final pour s'imposer en puissance. Soutenu par son équipe Soudal Quick-Step, il a su éviter les pièges d'une étape marquée par des tentatives d'échappées avortées et un fort tempo imposé par les équipes de sprinteurs.
